About the tours:

Depending on your choice, this nautical excursion lasts between 3 to 8 hours. It includes cruise time, water activities, beach time, hiking (optional), food and drinks.

Enjoy snorkelling, swimming with sea lions, and paddleboarding. Jump or relax on a water mat. Spot natural rock formations, stunning landscapes, and diverse marine life. Explore the ecosystems of La Paz Bay, Balandra Beach, and the Espiritu Santo archipelago. Hiking is also an option.

This tour provides a glimpse into a biological exhibition of species that are found nowhere else in the world but on this bay and islands.

On board served delicious freshly made fish ceviche, made on board fresh turkey & cheese sandwiches, guacamole, chips and Mexican salsas, fresh fruit, vegetables snacks and dessert. Soft drinks (sodas), juices, beers, margaritas, bottled water, and ice are included.

You don’t need to bring extras, but you can always bring food, snacks, and alcoholic beverages. We will serve those on board.

Tours offered:

This tour takes you directly from the marina to the San Rafaelito natural reserve, where you can either observe from the deck or jump and swim with the local sea lion colony. The tour includes a knowledgeable, certified local guide, per local law.
 
After snorkelling, the captain will take you to a secluded nearby bay where the boat anchors, giving you more time to swim, relax in the sun, and enjoy the beautiful views the tropical desert offers.
This tour, leaving the marina, is headed first to the sea lion colony at San Rafaelito. After spending time with the sea lions above and underwater, the boat will continue to the Balandra Bay & Beaches.
At Balandra Bay, anchoring depends on how long one spends at the sea lion colony. Usually, the stay varies from 1:45 to 3 hours.
 
At Balandra Bay, your group will enjoy a beach setup including shade, numerous chairs, a table, food, and an icebox full of drinks. You can use a paddleboard to wander around the bay, relax on the watermat, go snorkelling, go on a dinghy ride to see the famous mushroom, and even go on a 45-minute hike (accompanied by our certified local guide – highly recommended activity).

 

This tour, too, leaves the marina and heads directly to the sea lions colony at San Rafaelito, where you can swim or observe from the deck.
 
Leaving San Rafaelito, cruising from about 45 – 55 minutes to Espiritu Santo Island to anchor, where the group will enjoy beach time at one of the pristine bays. Here, you will enjoy the comfort of a beach setup. The time spent on the island’s beach is usually 2 hours.
 
From here, you’ll be heading to Balandra Bay & Beaches to view the famous mushroom and visit the beaches. Time spent here is usually an hour.

This tour is a 3-hour tour. The itinerary includes the sea lion colony at San Rafaelito, where you can choose to observe from the deck or jump in (with a certified guide).
 
The tour continues along the northern coast of La Paz obsering the tropical desert and the city coastline, finishing at dusk.

Itinerary
Below is described a typical (suggested) itinerary for an eight-hour tour.

Shorter tours do not include Espiritu Santo Island and reach as far as Balandra Beach/Tecolote Beach

– All tours offer swimming and snorkelling with sea lions. 5 hour tours and over offer a visit to Balnadra beach.
– Tours up to 5 hours offer swimming and snorkelling with sea lions, and visit La Paz’s nearer bays and La Paz City Coastline.
– Every tour is flexible and can meet special requests.

  • Arrival at Marina Palmira, embarkation (briefing)
  • The sea lions colony natural reserve at San Rafaelito (swim & snorkel)
  • Candelero Bay, Espiritu Santo Island (swim & snorkel)
  • Ballena Beach (lunch, swim, dinghy ride, beach set up, optional hike)
  • Balandra Beach, Balandra Bay (swim, optional hike, visit the famous mushroom)
  • Marina Palmira, disembarkation

During this trip, you will visit Espiritu Santo Island’s natural reserve and surroundings.

Our guide on board will point out and narrate a little history.
You will be able to spot turtles, dolphins, mantas, whales, and species of seabirds and photograph natural rock formations such as the famous mask and mushroom.
